here they are, the little comments that don't merit posts of their own...
thunderstorms here are both satisfyingly ferocious, and frequent. the mountains chop up the weather patterns - often, i can look straight up at a crystal clear sky but be rimmed in by clouds and lightning flashes on all sides.
i tried coke zero. i have a completely neutral reaction. it is caffinated and carbonated, but that is all that can be said. it does not taste good. it does not taste bad. it is... a beverage.
pms - blah. i am willing to chalk up an emotionally tumultuous few days to hormonal nonsense. thank god there is chocolate.
on a similar note - i love my host parents. running home at lunch, opening a cabinet door, watching helplessly as dishes tumble to the ground and shatter, and dissolving into tears - this could have sparked a number of reactions, but their particular brand of chatty kindness was probably the best.
i like cowboys. i would be a great cowboy. i was in denial about this for years. i grew up in oklahoma, and i was surrounded by too much, and too generic residue of cowboy-ness. now i am sufficiently removed from my past to appreciate the appeal.
someday, i will have sufficient means to visit you all. know that i miss you very much.
3 more days. 3 more days. 3 more days.

Now you have two for each day! No more hug-rationing! Let them eat hugs!
Err...maybe not that last bit. Yes, definitely ignore that. Do not eat the hugs. May contain chemicals harmful to small children and agressive houseplants.
